Latest News: Training resumed last Thursday with everyone decked out for the Monsoon Madness paddle to celebrate our coordinator - Jill's - birthday. We finished with a sausage sizzle and pink bubbly toast accompanied by a rendition of Happy Birthday. A good time was had by all and we were delighted to welcome 2 new survivors who we hope to see again this week :)
Our Major Sponsor: We are very fortunate to have the support of Shorelands
Where we paddle: our home is Darwin’s Cullen Bay Marina where our two boats Sunshine and Moontime are berthed.. Training takes place Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5.30 – 7.00. Tuesday is a serious paddle session more suited to experienced paddlers. Thursday is a social evening where the focus is on FUN.
About Us: We are proud to boast we are the first Dragons Abreast group in Australia. We made our debut on Lake Alexander in December 1998 and first paddled under the name of the NT Breast Cancer Voice. We were led by Michelle Hanton, founding Director of what is today known as Dragons Abreast Australia. The head office of Dragons Abreast remains, to this day, in the Darwin.
The Northern Territory is a small community and for this reason at fund raising events a unified banner is used which incorporates the logos of the three organisations - Dragons Abreast NT, NT Breast Cancer Voice and Dragons Abreast Australia. The banner signifies we are united in the fight against breast cancer in the Northern Territory .
